Come join us behind the scenes and dive into the full story of how the Rude Awakening documentary was created. 

From the film’s humble beginnings in Hawaii during the Crimson Circle Bon workshop in 2016, to shooting the first trailers and proof of concept materials, the creation of Rude Awakening was never going to be a linear affair. The Rude Awakening team listened to where the project wanted to go and had to make intuitive decisions along the way as the project grew bigger and more ambitious. But, being humans on this incredible journey, its creators didn’t escape getting caught up in the stories, reactions and drama themselves.

Eventually, after having to stop filming for a two year pandemic and nearing bankruptcy towards the end of production, there was a time when the team lost all hope in getting this film made at all. But like all good stories, in the final hour a miracle happened! Then the team pulled it together and managed to finish the film in a way nobody believed was even possible.
